Prime Minister of Spain (1996 – 2004)

José Maria Aznar was the President of Partido Popular for more than fourteen years to 2004.   Mr. Aznar was leader of the Opposition from 1990 to 1996 and served two terms as Prime Minister between 1996 and 2004.

After leaving office, Mr. Aznar has been a policy advisor and lecturer.   In 2004, he was appointed President of the Madrid-based Foundation for Analysis and Social Sciences (FAES).   He has also been awarded the title of “Distinguished Scholar in the Practice of Global Leadership” from Georgetown University, Washington D.C.
