Prime Minister of Norway (1997 – 2005)
Kjell Magne Bondevik served as Prime Minister of Norway between 1997 and 2000 in a coalition consisting of the Christian Democratic Party, the Centre Party and the Liberal Party. He was appointed Prime Minister for a second time in October 2001, serving until 2005.
Mr Bondevik also served as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy to the Horn of Africa between 2006 – 2007. He founded the Oslo Center for Peace and Human Rights in 2006, of which he is currently the President.
