It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Eurasian Council on Foreign Affairs.
I thank you for visiting this webpage and hope that your interest in ECFA means that you share our sincere desire to bring Central Asia closer to Europe, foster deeper people-to-people ties and, most importantly, promote mutual awareness.
Earlier this year, I was privileged to be invited to serve as Director of the ECFA and was quick to embrace this exciting opportunity with open arms. It was gratifying to find a dynamically developing structure with clear set of priorities in a relatively new think-tank. And I deeply appreciate the contribution of the first ECFA Director, Mr. Rauan Kenzhekhanuly, who remains an ardent champion of our forum but had to give up his Council assignment as he assumed a formal Government position.
Now, we look to build on the solid foundation that has been established in ECFA’s first year. We need to build on the success of ECFA’s launch event and continue to engage the wisdom and statesmanship so abundantly present in its distinguished Advisory Council for the benefit of deeper Euro-Asian understanding and awareness. We need to build on the efficiency of its thought-provoking and informative publications. And last but not least, we need to build on the gracious support of Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry to more actively involve all other Central Asian countries in ECFA mission.
I believe in the great future of ECFA and look forward to its exciting achievements.
Stay with us, we will keep you updated.
