The Eurasian Council on Foreign Affairs held the Third Annual Meeting of its Advisory Council on the 6th and 7th October 2016, at Cliveden House, Berkshire. I am proud to report that, as with previous Annual Meetings in Brussels and Vienna, the event was a great success.
The Meeting brought together Members of the ECFA Advisory Council and distinguished guests from the spheres of British and European politics, business, media and academia. On October 6th, the Advisory Council held a productive Board Meeting followed by a champagne reception and private dinner in the presence of HRH the Duke of York, KG. We were sincerely honoured by his presence.
The following morning, the Members of the Advisory Council welcomed distinguished external guests to discuss the development of political, institutional, security and economic integration between the countries of Europe and Central Asia, over the course of two highly informative Discussion Groups.
H.E Erlan Idrissov, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan and first Hon. President of the ECFA, spoke with Members of the ECFA Advisory Council during the Board Meeting and Discussion Groups. H.E. Aleksander Kwaśniewski, former President of Poland, offered a Vote of Thanks at the conclusion of the private dinner, addressing the high-level audience and expressing gratitude on behalf of the ECFA Advisory Council towards all attendees, and in particular HRH the Duke of York, for attending and contributing to the Third Annual Meeting.
We have prepared a short video summarizing the events of the Third Annual Meeting – including an End of Year message to all our subscribers from myself and Dr. Benita Ferrero-Waldner, former Foreign Minister of Austria and Chair of the ECFA Advisory Council – which you can view by clicking on the link below:
